    November is here at last, accompanied by the encouraging signs of Melbourne's cautious emergence from lockdown: restaurants and retail shops open for business again. After relishing a brekkie out with Jillian for the first time in 6 months, my next port of call was Melbourne Etching Supplies. The positive feedback from my debut Artist's Talk—combined with the uncertainty about the future of 'live' exhibitions—has inspired an encore.     Like everything else in the COVID era, sustaining an art practice is challenging and precarious. The prospect of focused studio time—one of the silver linings of lockdowns—has been offset by the drought of live exhibition outlets.  Sharing my work in the flesh and discussing it with viewers are sources of inspiration and motivation.  Posting images of artwork on my website will have to suffice until galleries re-open or until it's safe to host another Art Open House.         In the meantime, I found solace in the challenge of recording an annotated Artist's Talk about my latest work, which is at
